Frustrated trying to come up with a name for your business?

Landing on the perfect name can sometimes feel like an impossible task. There’s no shame in not knowing where to start or what to look for. Luckily, I have just the thing to help provide guidance and relieve some of that frustration.

DON’T WORRY. HELP IS HERE!

Brands, companies, products, initiatives… you name it and well, I’ve probably named it. Through my many years of practice as naming wordsmith, I developed an easy-to-use framework that walks me through the process. This framework has resulted in me coming up with unique and memorable names that are still in use by businesses of all sizes.

In the video below I share with you my tried and true B.R.A.N.D. Framework for Naming.

What is the B.R.A.N.D. Framework?

B

Brainstorm visually, either on a white board or a sheet of paper. Writing down as many options as possible will give you plenty to choose from.

R

Refine your options by removing anything that sounds too similar to competitor names. You can create buckets, organizing the words into categories.

A

Analyze the refined list of words and see if you can make any unique word combinations that can serve as a business name. Use a thesaurus to look for word options,

N

Namecheck your best options to see if domain names and social media handles are available. Try adding suffixes like LLC, Corp, etc to find succinct domain names.

D

Decide on the best option. That might be the name with the best availability of digital properties, or simply the one you think is best. Try to keep the name short.

Are you in need of additional naming guidance?

That’s good to hear because I would love to work with you more closely. There are two ways that you can take a deeper dive into the B.R.A.N.D. Framework for Naming. If you’re looking for personal attention, signing up for a Guided Session is the way to go since you’ll be able to pick my brain in real time. If you are looking for additional and resources and clarity, I break down the process even further during my pre-recorded webinar. If you have questions, jot them down and you can ask me during my monthly Q & A session.

Creating brands is in my DNA.

I designed my first logo at the age of 12. Ever since, I knew that what I wanted to do was help business owners grow and develop their brands. Eager to refine my skills, I attended art school and received a foundational education as a graphic designer in 2007. I dove headfirst into the hustle the second I graduated, working full-time for a small creative agency during the day and building brands for small businesses on a freelance basis every other waking minute.

15 years of varied experience later, working different project scopes, job roles, and across many industries, I continue to strengthen my passion and my skills. In pursuit of being able to offer more services and value to my clients, I recently completed a Master’s degree in Marketing. This combination of strategy and design, of creative and analytical, places me at a significant advantage in understanding the brand building process from end to end.
